A Royal Flush :- This ia an ace high straight Flush, and clearly the best possible hand in poker. There are only 4 possible suits, either clubs, diamonds, hearts or spades as below.




Straight Flush :- Made of of five sequence cards of the same suit such as,

Four of a kind :- This is a five card hand that consists of four cards of any rank + 1 unrelated card. The higher the four cards the better the hand. Four kings will always beat four queens





Full House :- This is three cards of any rank togther with a pair of another. The rank is dependent upon the three group pairing. A hand such as below is refered to as a "Queen full of threes"




Flush :- Any five cards of the same suit. They do not have to be sequenced. However at "showdown" if there are two or more flushes, the highest rank will always win, i.e. ace high will beat king high





Straight :- Five sequenced cards not of the same suit. If there are more than one, the high cards determine the winning hand,





Three-of-a-kind :- Three cards of the same rank plus two unrelated cards, for example,





Two pair :- Two cards of one rank, two cards of another, and one unrelated card. Where two players each have a pair, the highest ranking pair is the winning hand. If both hold the same pair, the rank of the unrelated card (kicker) determines the winning hand





One pair:- This is two cards of one rank and three unrelated cards. Where two players hold the same pair, the highest kicker determines the winning hand





No Pair:- No pair is five unrelated cards, with the rank order determining the winner. For example
